Gary Pert head of Austereo’s Melbourne operations might be on the way to Channel Nine to fill the void left after the resignation of Melbourne operations GM Paul Waldren. Pert has been mentioned to replace Waldren as  has Cos Cardone, former AFL Footy Show producer and current head of light entertainment at Nine.

Gary Pert is a former Fitzroy and Collingwood AFL player who has also been suggested as the next Collingwood Football Club President when McGuire stands down from the role.McGuire needs to get a team on board that will work with him and deliver the results that the Nine powerhouse is used to.

Earleir this year Waldren turned down the offer to move to Sydney with Eddie McGuire and Waldren was then replaced as the networks National Sales Director.

Mr Waldren’s departure comes a month after figures were released showing Nine had lost $30 million in advertising revenue compared with the first six months of last year, leaving Seven within $2 million of the once-dominant network.
