This morning in the NSW District Court 2GB's Alan Jones lost his challenge against his conviction for broadcasting the name of a juvenile involved in a murder trial. It relates to Jones who named the juvenile on his breakfast program in July 2005. In April 2007, a magistrate found he had breached the Childrens' Proceedings Act when he read out an on air from an article published in the Daily Telegraph that day, which named the teenager. Jones was fined $1000 and placed on a nine-month good behaviour bond.
