MACQUARIE Radio Network is in discussions with Fairfax Radio and other groups with stations outside Sydney to sell its rights to coverage of the Beijing Olympics.


The network also confirmed yesterday it had reached an in-principle agreement with ABC radio for non-commercial radio coverage of the Games, which begin on August 8.

Macquarie owns Sydney radio station 2GB, which will be spending a record amount on its coverage of the Beijing Olympics, but will be selling the syndication rights to stations in other capital cities and the regions.

Fairfax Radio - which owns stations such as 3AW in Melbourne, 4BC in Brisbane and 6PR in Perth - is believed to be involved in the negotiations. Read the full article here
