Andrew Harwood was given a final farewell at his funeral in Sydney yesterday (Friday 15 Feb) with family, friends, radio and TV industry colleagues paying their respect. Andrew passed away on Feb 7 following a severe asthma attack.

RADIO and TV personality Andrew Harwood has died following a severe asthma attack. He was 62.Harwood, the son of late Beauty And The Beastpanellist Ena Harwood, had a career spanning 40 years, starting in Warwick, Queensland, in 1968.

He returned to Sydney and was offered a job with radio 2KY and then became a voice-over announcer on Channel Seven.From there, he was selected as the compere for It's Academic, which he hosted from 1972 until 1978. He also became the compere for another quiz show Jeopardy.

Later he compered other quiz shows such as Class Of 82 and Class Of 83. The Paul Hogan Shows included him as a regular support actor.During this period he also hosted all the Miss NSW beauty pageants. He then co-hosted Good Morning Sydney and was a regular on the At Home show before spending five years on Till 10 on Channel Ten.

He leaves behind his wife and two daughters, Lani and Taci.
