Federal Arts Minister Peter Garrett has announced the National Film and Sound Archive 'Sounds of Australia' 2008 additions today as part of Sound Day, a series of special events to celebrate Australian recorded sound.

ABC's radio series Blue Hills theme, The Aeroplane Jelly song, The original 1927 recording of Waltzing Matilda Slim Dusty's Pub with No Beer and Billy Thorpe's classic Most People I know Think That I'm Crazy are amongst those that have made the cut this year. When it comes to radio these tunes all have played their role in the medium over many generations.
