PAUL Thompson, founder of DMG Radio Australia which owns the Nova and Vega stations, has today announced he will resign his executive role 12 years after starting the business.

He has handed over executive responsibility to DMG's managing director Cathy O'Connor who takes the new role of CEO.

Mr Thompson will remain the chairman of the unlisted group but in a non-executive capacity.

"Cathy O'Connor is an outstanding executive and a fine person. I'm proud we have someone of such calibre in our organisation and as CEO she will have he guidance and support of the most talented executive team in our industry," Mr Thompson said.
