Bendigo community station 89.5 Phoenix FM is going to fight tooth and nail not to have the frequency re-allocated to ABC radio for parliamentary broadcasts. They held an emergency meeting on Monday evening to to form an action plan in order to retain the current frequency.
Federal Member for Bendigo Steve Gibbons had already started a petition to save the station and the group now plan to get behind that 100 percent. Phoenix FM vice-president Brad Warren said the group hoped to get at least 10,000 signatures. There will be a rally held in Bendigo's Rosalind Park on Thursday September 11 with the petition to be delivered to Mr Gibbons at the conclusion. To pledge your support email phoenix@cvcb.org.au.
