Rockhampton is currently receiving Radio 2 on the 1611AM frequency. It sounds like just test transmissions at the moment as there is nothing on air apart from music and a few pre-recorded CSA's here and there. If Radio 2 gets off the ground in Rockhampton it could provide competition for the only other two commercial AM services available in the Beef City - 4CC (transmitted from Gladstone on a local frequency) and 4RO.
