Hamish and Andy to cover Tassie
From January 19, Tasmanian listeners will hear The Hamish & Andy Show live weekdays from 4pm and The Saturday Morning Hamish & Andy Show every weekend.
Austereo and Tasmanian Broadcasters (a subsidiary of Grant Broadcasters) have joined forces to allow Tasmanian listeners to tune into Australia’s top drive-time show for the first time through local Tasmanian radio stations.
Tasmanian Broadcasters’ Executive General Manager Tim Holder said, “Tasmanian Broadcasters are delighted to have secured the Hamish and Andy show for our major markets across Tasmania. We are confident that advertisers and listeners will benefit immensely from having such a highly regarded show broadcasting from local Tasmanian radio stations.”

I hear H&A will also be heard in regional Qld on the bank's northern Sea FM stations. Towns like Cairns, Mackay & Rocky will have the choice of H&A on Sea and their own Benchwarmers on Hot.
No! This is not a misprint, crazy I know.
Not as a crazy as how hopping mad the clapped out programmers at the bank were when they found out H&A was signed to 7HO and not Sea Hobart! - January 11, 2009 at 9:52 PM

Ok, I listen to both SEA and 7HO, and I wish H&A was on SEA.
7HO is going to have like a multiple personality disorder!
The other day at 4pm it was Disturbia - Rihanna followed by Killer Queen - Queen. Hmmm... A lot of work needs to be done to 7HO's music to the rest of the day if the wanna attract the H&A audience across the day?!
Point is, 7HO is gonna sound like 2 different stations (at least for 2 hours a day) which brings about the other point. Are they seriously thinking people are going to stick around at 6 once H&A is finished for the day? The majority of people who are probably H&A audience listen to SEA. They aren't going to listen to 7HO all day - they will listen to SEA and switch for H&A and switch back to SEA again.
I see very minimal flow on effect for the rest of the station.
Unless 7HO is planning on relaunching as a hit music station, which would be a total mess since they recently decided to go older by reinstating the 7HO call sign. - January 12, 2009 at 6:52 AM
