THE ABC has dismissed a suggestion from Victoria's Metropolitan Fire Brigade that its emerging digital TV services also be developed into an emergency services media.
The MFB made one of the 2400 submissions received to the federal Government's Department of Broadband, Communication and the Arts current review, ABC and SBS: Towards a Digital Future.
The MFB recommended ABC Radio's current standing as the "emergency services broadcaster", in which Victorian station ABC774 Melbourne has official status, be extended to digital television. Full story
