The Touch wins I am with the band.

Adelaide band The Touch is officially Australia’s hottest emerging music act, beating tough competition to be crowned the official winner of Nova’s I Am With The Band competition today.

Beating a staggering 1,065 bands that entered the competition through www.novafm.com.au , The Touch won $10,000 as well as national airplay on Nova stations to help them along their journey to stardom.

Combining interlocking riffs of television with the electronic dance sounds of Bloc Party, The Touch was shortlisted by an industry-judging panel as one of the top ten bands in Australia.

ACMA declares no more automation

SCOOP APRIL 1 The ACMA will this morning issue a press release announcing that commercial radio stations are and have been in breach of their licensing conditions if they provide automated programming including where the air shift is networked from a sister station or interstate source. All shifts including mid-dawns are going to have to an announcer live to air with stations having a minimum number of 6 daytime jocks. The move will send shockwaves across the industry and station bean counters to the drycleaners. Our source for this item was Issie Joshing.
