Simon Ruhfus, 2UE’s new general manager, will hit the ground running this week with the latest audience survey to be released on his second day in the office. Ruhfus, who has 20 years’ experience in senior management at Austereo and the Australian Radio Network, has replaced Ian Sheppard. Contrary to some reports, neither Sheppard nor program director Sandy Aloisi were sacked. Both engineered their own departures. And while we’re debunking rumours, drive-time presenter Steve Price is not interested in becoming the new program director. Meanwhile, Glenn Wheeler will fill in on the night-time show this week while Stan Zemanek begins another round of chemotherapy. (SMH)
