The Australian Communications and Media Authority will investigate whether the Commercial Radio Codes of Practice (the code) and existing industry practices provide sufficient safeguards for participants and subjects in live-hosted entertainment programs on commercial radio.
‘Recent public concern in relation to an episode of the Kyle and Jackie O Show, broadcast by 2Day FM, has highlighted broader issues about the treatment of participants and subjects involved in ‘stunt’ or ‘prank’ calls, competitions and challenges on commercial radio,’ said Chris Chapman, Chairman of the ACMA.

KYLE Sandilands and Jackie O were notably absent when radio talent came together in Sydney to broadcast side by side to promote digital radio. But they weren't forgotten.
As presenters gathered for a group photo in Sydney's Martin Place following their breakfast broadcasts, some made jokes about the top rating FM shock jocks whose show is off air following the recent rape revelation scandal. "Where are Kyle and Jackie? We're waiting for Kyle and Jackie," 2UE's Mike Carlton laughed. Nova 969's Merrick Watts yelled out before the photo: "Say lie detector". Full story The Australian

With advertisers pulling the plug over the Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O scandal could the station be prepared to move the national networked drive duo of Hamish and Andy to 2Day FM breakfast? It is a big move however it would go a long way towards the troubled station repairing the damage that has been done over the last week.

Will advertisers be able to trust the disgraced Austereo 2Day FM breakfast pair Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O if and when they return to air? Will the big ticket advertisers want their products to be promoted on a program that has put breakfast radio into a gutter over flowing with sleaze, scum and smut!
The damage has been done and one would hope that Austereo senior management are brave enough to give the Australian public what they want and show Kyle and Jackie O the door. Come clean and move on from this stain that has dragged your radio station down
