Since the tragic accident which claimed the life of motor racing legend Peter Brock, Bathurst radio stations B-Rock FM and 2BS have been inundated with tributes and suggestions of how to best remember the man who firmly placed Mt Panorama and Bathurst on the map.

Chairman of Bathurst Broadcasters Ron Camplin today said it is only fitting that the station named in honour of the great man be the one to launch the memorial fund.

Mr Camplin says “Peter Brock is an honorary citizen of Bathurst, his name graces our walk of fame more than anyone else, and our local radio station was named after him. He was a part of our community and should be honoured as such.”

Mayor of Bathurst Norm Mann has pledged his support to the memorial for Brock and is inviting members of the public put forward their suggestions.

International Radio and television personality, and friend of Brock, Ken Sparkes kicked off the fund with a personal contribution of $500, which has already been matched by several local organizations.
