Village Roadshow says this year’s profits will likely be higher than previously expected.
The company which distributes film, owns a majority stake of radio group Austereo, and operates theme parks across the country now sees full year profit coming in at $36 million. The new estimate is $9 million higher than an earlier forecast of $27 million.
The company attributes the improved profit outlook to an accounting change, which has effectively reduced its losses on interest rate derivatives held by the company.
