Vinnie was a great bloke and our paths crossed at 5AD many years ago. Around 5 or 6 years ago I bumped into him in Adelaide and Vinnie and I had a great chat.
To THE SITE EDITOR, What a fitting video as that is how I remember Vinnie and the closing scenes of him waving goodbye are very fitting. - March 26, 2009 at 8:21 PM

I had no idea John had passed on until I happened upon Radio News. "Skinny Vinnie" and I worked together at 7HO Hobart many years ago. What a sad loss. My condolances to his family.

Adelaide and radio has lost one of the best. I thank you Vinnie for making me feel welcome, making it look easy and making me laugh. God speed.

It was Vinnie who many years ago gave me the name kroger. The world certainly is a sadder place now that he has gone. May he R.I.P
