Source Courier Mail: A BRISBANE jury has taken just on three hours to convict a man of the savage bashing murder of a hotel patron. Sunshine Coast man Tyson Alfred Barden, 22, had pleaded not guilty in a Brisbane Supreme Court to the murder of Brisbane radio announcer Brian Heathcote in January 2007. Justice Margaret Wilson sentenced Barden to life in jail as Heathcote's friends and family cried in court. The court was told Mr Heathcote, 40, had been drinking at the Royal English Hotel in Nundah when he left to walk the short distance to his home. Full story Courier Mail
