If you said when Bert Newton was in charge of 3DB you would right.
Between 1986 and 1988 the station was known as Melbourne's own 3DB, the new beginning. Of course 3DB went on to become 3TT, later TTFM and now known as MIX 101.1.

3AW are now calling themselves "3AW is Football" which was the old 3KZ catch cry for many years by Ian Major and the late great Jack Dyer.

In a promo I heard on 3AW yesterday Brian Taylor said ''Melbourne's own 3AW is football''.
I was waiting for the phrase ''The Greater'', as in 3UZ to roll off BT's tongue alas it was not to be.
There was only one radio station that was Football and that was 3KZ! -
