Best of, B Teams and Boof heads
The pattern for many stations now is to have a regular fill in presenter for each program. Such is the case for Alan Jones at 2GB where Jason Morrison holds the fort or Denis Walter who slides into 3AW's Ernie Sigley program.
Something different this time around at 2UE, George Moore & Paul B. Kidd are filling in for Mike & Sandy on breakfast and Don Burke is in for Tim Webster on afternoons. Let us know who has popped up on the dial.

Speaking Breakfast radio what's with John Burgess?
First of all he gives the nine network a bitter on air spray cos they didn't give him the host role on "Million Dollar Wheel of Fortune"...He even played "Unbreak my Heart" as a tag to the spray....how embarrassing is that! Now he's in the Sunday Herald Sun giving Tim Campbell a spray. What a gall! Burgess is Melbourne Radio's lowest rating Commercial breakfast presenter. This is a bloke who 18 months ago stated it would take him 12 months to turn 3mp around...yeh right...how about that for arrogance. I suggest Burgess worry about his own performance before crtisising others! The only thing wrong with "Wheel" is that's it's a tired old fossil past it's use by date. A bit like the bloke who so coverts the host role. - June 9, 2008 at 12:09 PM

Star hosts are predictably absent at the times when many people would wish they are on air - public holidays especially, and holiday periods in general. It's a low level excitement factor that, when missing, means a lot.
Replacements usually attract a different demographic and for me this a high turn off factor. You cannot, for instance, substitute Jim Ball with John Kerr - that's an insult, however good John is with his own particular demographic.
Don't know what the answer is though. Maybe if they change the ratings system and monitor public holidays? - June 10, 2008 at 9:14 AM

Daisy you must be referring to The Pop up breakfast show. It has been renamed the get up breakfast show in honour of Brian McFadden. Poor old Brian slept through the first half an hour of his first day. I am going to try and plant the link here if it permits [link=http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,26278,23843941-5013560,00.html]Brian is a sleepy head[/link]
